Objectophilia

… is a psychological disorder which involves falling in love with things, name it, box, ballpen, table, chair, and so on… I came across with this disorder when I was watching Boston Legal. :p and I was thinking, would I ever get myself to fall in love with a washing machine? or maybe a calculator? Haha. I don’t know, at least, right now, I’m sane enough to do such thing. lol. And…. No, no, no. I wouldn’t even consider  that even if I’m the last single woman existing in the planet.

Well~~ I found this episode extremely hilarious~~ :)) The character with the said disorder, objectophilia, was Leigh and the case was assigned to an odd but brilliant attorney, Jerry. Leigh lost her lover, which apparently is not a human being, but a box. So there, instead of going through the trouble of having a trial, Jerry just helped Leigh find her box, and when they did, what was left was pieces of it. Poor box was shredded. Lol. after that, Leigh asked  Jerry out on a date. Jerry has Asperger’s Syndrome, another psychological disorder where in one finds it difficult to build and engage in personal relationships. Everything went well until Leigh fell in love with an iphone. Lol. hahaha. Poor Jerry!

Then there’s this episode when they came across each other again~

Leigh: Jerry, I know we parted in an awkward way for which I am ashamed, but im not here about that, I’m afraid I need a lawyer,I’ve been fired from my long standing teaching position…
Jerry: What’d you do? Give tongue to a locker?
Leigh: That was mean!
Jerry: Dumping me for an iphone was mean!

:))))))))) God, I flipped!!!

Well anyway, the lady said she’s gravitating to things because those can’t dump or leave her. I somehow think it makes sense but still, having a relationship with an inanimate object is seriously disturbing. It is a sad fact though, that most relationships are still based on physical appearances, cheating partners has been more rampant nowadays, and it’s truly difficult to look for a serious and honest relationship.

… I hope that those who have found good significant halves and are in a happy relationship be content with what they have and never take for granted the kindness and love that their partners are giving them. Because you’ll never know what emotional, physical, or psychological damage it would cause to devastate someones feelings.

A Random Thought on a Fine Saturday Afternoon

As I was watching Criminal Minds, I suddenly realized that most victims of crimes are the ones who are helpful and kind to others. These kinds of people make for easy targets. I am never nice to strangers, and now I am convinced that it’s better that way. Criminals can pose as neighbors in distress, a random school mate who needs help, a stranger who lost something or what not. Therefore, being nice and kind to others, specially complete strangers or people you just knew, can most likely get you killed.

So, I don’t have to be mean. I just don’t need to be kind either. Better safe than sorry!
